It's Sugar

We've been having fun checking out all of the new kid-friendly stops in Southpoint Mall.  A bunch of places moved out when the mall had their 10th anniversary and a bunch of 10 year leases were up, and now their replacements are opening.  There are definitely a few kid stops in the mix.

What it is: It's Sugar is a new candy restaurant that has opened up a couple stores away from the movie theater.  We didn't quite know what to expect when we went in, but it was actually a fun little stop.  All kids love candy, but all parents might not want to have to buy their kids some huge amount of candy as a treat.  While there are huge candy bars and gummy bears and all sorts of colorful confections there to be had, there were also smaller quantities that were perfect for kiddo quantities.

They had four tables filled with jars of all types of confections.  You could choose a bag and mix and match all of the candy.  They would then weigh the bag and you would pay by weight.  This way, when we went in, I could let my kids pick out one piece of this candy and one piece of that and not have to get a whole bunch of each kind.  We got a few pieces of candy for each boy, and it was a reasonable and tasty treat.  Plus, the kiddos loved picking out the types of candy that they wanted.

What we liked:  Of course, we love candy!  But we loved that the kids could pick out the types they liked and mix and match.  Then, we could get just a few of each type that they liked.

What we would change: There are countless treats all over the shop.  So, of course, you have to watch your curious, hungry munchkins to make sure they keep their hands to themselves.
