Holiday Giveaway-A Night of Luxury

The holidays can be a wonderful, crazy, hectic time of year.  By January I'm always exhausted.  So, for this giveaway, we are lucky enough to offer a little bit of a break, a chance for you to relax once the chaos of the holidays is over.  Trust me, I wish I could enter this one!

The fabulous Kings Daughters Inn, located just across the street from Duke's East Campus is offering one lucky Stir Crazy Moms reader a luxury one night stay for 2 people.  This stay comes with an afternoon tea of homemade scones and muffins, turndown service with port and chocolate, and a full, hot breakfast in the morning (you can even eat it in bed!)  How awesome is that?  Thank you so much Kings Daughters Inn!

So, how do you enter to win this wonderful prize?  All you have to do is comment on the blog post and tell us how you relax and escape from the stress of the holidays.  You can even gain an extra entry each for following both Stir Crazy Moms and the Kings Daughters Inn on facebook.  Just make sure you tell us that you are a fan in your comment so we can give you credit!

You will have until Sunday December 9 at midnight to enter the giveaway.  Happy entering and GOOD LUCK!

  1. Hmm. How do I relax? I'm afraid I don't do enough of that, but I do like to take a nice long bath with a good book.
And I'm following both you and King's daughters on Facebook.

  2. My ideal way to relax would be to get a massage, but yoga is also great and cheaper - great for mind and body. If I can follow that by an hour of uninterrupted reading... heaven.

I am a fan of Stir Crazy Mom's on Facebook.

  3. Relaxing during the holidays means cuddling on the couch with my family, with the tree lit up and the lights on low, with holiday music playing in the background. I love the holidays!

  5. With two toddlers, the way I like to relax and relieve stress is to go shopping by myself. Having an hour at Target by myself, shopping and people watching helps me relax believe it or not! (I have liked both Stir Crazy Moms of Durham and Kings Daughters Inn on Facebook).

Hi, I just found out about your blog - so excited! I de-stress by having my parents take care of my daughter one night (while we're visiting them out of town) so my husband and I can have a date night. Really revives me!

  7. Oh and I've got likes for you both on Facebook... so pick me, pick me.

  8. I like to force myself to stop shopping and stop wrapping and just sit on the sofa with a warm beverage and take in the christmas tree. Parts of the holidays are stressful, but parts can be relaxing.

  9. I relax by picking up a holiday-themed novel and curling up under my big fluffy blanket with the book and a cup of hot chocolate after the little guy is in bed.

  10. Of course I am a facebook fan of Stir Crazy Moms and now I am also a facebook fan of the Kings Daughters Inn. I remember touring the Kings Daughters Inn when it was still under construction and I would love to have the chance to stay there!

Frankly, I don't relax and escape until the holidays are over! After Christmas, we usually go to Connecticut to visit my in-laws. I go into New York City for a day. Planning my day in New York and looking forward to it is my stress-relief!
    Thanks

  14. My favorite way to relax is to get a nice warm decaf coffee, bundle the children up in the pj's and drive out to see Christmas lights. Thankfully it gets dark early enough it doesn't blow bedtime and we all enjoy it!

  18. What a great giveaway! Relaxing after the holidays would mean letting all of the elves secretly put all the Christmas decorations away! Ha! Or enjoying a magazine or a book by the fireplace.

  22. I keep really busy with events during the day for the kiddos, but at night we slow down. After pj's and brushing teeth, we'll take a nightime pj walk and look at holiday lights. Then we turn off all the lights in the living room except for the tree and a candle, and read a holiday book right beside the tree. It's such a fun, relaxing tradition. After the kids go to bed, I work on DIY gifts, which is so rewarding.

  23. I like to de-stress by going for a long nature walk on the Al Buehler trail, followed by a cup of hot coffee and one of those decadent brownies from Nosh. Since entering mommy-hood, I really appreciate simple pleasures like this.

  24. With all the kids snug in their beds, I race down the stairs for some merlot based reds. And with daddy on his computer and the dog on her 4th nap, I settle in front of the TV for a sugar-filled snack.

  25. I relax by having a glass of wine, curled up on the couch with my Kindle while Husby reads the paper next to me with music playing the background!

  36. With a 3yo, and 18month old boy and a third boy due in 8 weeks, simple things to relax! Coffee or dessert and snuggling on the couch watching a favorite TV show with my husband, the occassional dinner out just the two of us, or an afternoon nap while both boys nap! Fan of your FB page, also me and my boys were at Superior Gymnastics with you and yours in May for one of the trial classes!! :)

  37. I love to bake! And I like you on Facebook.

  38. So apparently my first comment didn't go through (internet crash on my end) so here I am leaving the first part (and the likes bit is above). So, how do I relax... breathing deeply as I walk very slowly around the back end of the car after strapping my kiddo in on the passenger side. That walk from one side of the car to the other can sometimes be quite long.

Anyway, pick me. I have a nursing 9 month old so a getaway less than 5 minutes away would be perfect. So perfect. Plus I've been wanting to check out Kings Daughters Inn.

  40. As a couple we relax with a dinner out and then shopping at Barnes and Noble.

My idea of relaxing usually involves one of the 3: painting, scrapbooking, or reading...

of course a quiet bubble bath is my ultimate idea of chillaxin.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I relax and escape the stress of the holidays by making one weekend morning entirely family-focused. We make pancakes, stay in our PJs, read as many books as my kiddos want, and don't do ANY housework or errands during that time. It feels like an incredible luxury, and so worth it!

I just 'liked' y'all on FB for an extra entry!

  42. Amazing Prize!
If I get to relax, it's by taking a half hour or so for myself at Starbucks or Panera. Remove the responsibilities for just a few minutes and I am much more productive.

  43. I tend not to stress out about Christmas and gift giving in general, but I stress just about everything else. I love to cook and bake to take my mind off all the craziness.
