What it is: Yolavie is the newest in the string of frozen yogurt shops, and it has opened up in the old Marble Slab location in the outdoor portion of Southpoint Mall, very near the movie theater. It is a self-serve frozen yogurt stop where you can choose from a variety of flavors, mix and match, and then add whatever toppings you would like. Prices are 49 cents an ounce, so it is pretty much in line with other similar places.
What we liked: The yogurt was delicious. It's great to have another sweet treat option in Southpoint especially in the outdoor portion. It's an easier spot to get to than heading all the way into the mall to get a dessert. My boys were also pretty fond of the chairs, but I have to say I have mixed feelings about them. All of the chairs were tall bar stool type chairs, but the draw for the boys was that you could raise them up and lower them like barber shop chairs. However, since they're tall, I was constantly worried that my boys would fall out of them. In good weather you can avoid the attraction of the chairs by sitting outside, but it was too cold on the day we stopped by.
What we would change: Compared to some of the other frozen yogurt stops I didn't think they had quite as many topping to choose from, but they certainly had plenty. One can only put so many toppings on their frozen yogurt.
