What It Is: A giant home decor superstore where the old Big Kmart used to be on University Drive in Durham (near Saladelia, Chick Fila, and Target).
What We Liked: There was so much to see! This place is HUGE and contains everything from rugs, chairs, sofas, beds, outdoor furniture, curtains, and bedding to garden gnomes, mirrors, wall art, artificial flowers, party supplies and cutlery. Most everything was discounted and affordable (a dangerous combination). The store was very clean with wide aisles and staff was cheerful and helpful. They open early and close late every day (you know, in case you have a decorating emergency late in the day).
What We Would Change: The size of the place was a bit overwhelming for my 5-year-old and after a while he started complaining of having to walk so much. This may also not be the best place to bring very young children - there are many aisles of breakable objects...but if you are decorating your home, you need to check this place out.
