Pottery Barn Storytime

What it is:  It seems like we're always on the hunt for some indoor activities.  In the winter, it's too cold to get out and play, and in the summer it's too hot!  So, we were happy when we found another great storytime that we could check out.  We were definitely glad to find it this Tuesday when it was about a million degrees outside and the air was filled with smoke!

Pottery Barn storytime takes place at the Pottery Barn Kids store in Southpoint Mall on Tuesdays at 11.  It is definitely short and sweet.  You show up, sit in some chairs that have been set out, and the songs and stories commence.  This kids all seemed to definitely enjoy the entertainment and participated in each activity.  The person leading the storytime was also very good and keeping a nice quick pace which is essential in any good toddler storytime if you ever want to hold their attention.  After about 15 minutes, the storytime is over, and kids each bring up a Pottery Barn Book Club Card to get stamped.  If you save your card and get it stamped at 5 storytimes then you get $10 to spend at Pottery Barn!  Can't beat that.  We also got a little prize-This time it was a growth chart and lego piece to play with.

What we liked: We loved the nice brisk pace so that all of the children stayed fairly involved the whole time.  In addition, after the storytime was over they were happy to let the kids place at the toy displays in the store which they had a great time with.  Also, the storytime can be combined with so many other fun activities in the mall.  Because of its location outside it might be best paired with a trip to the train table upstairs in Barnes and Noble or a little exploration of all of the outdoor fountains.  The stamped card that can get you money to spend at Pottery Barn is also a nice touch!

What we would change:  I probably wouldn't head out to the mall just to do the storytime.  It is so short that I think you take more time getting in and out of the car with two kids.  But it is a great addition to some other fun mall activities.
