Gigi's Cupcakes

What it is: As we mentioned earlier, last week we headed over to Brier Creek to explore a great area so close to Durham.  We went to Brier Creek Community Center Park, but we didn't stop there.  Our adventure continued just down the road to Brier Creek Commons Shopping Center to find Gigi's Cupcakes.  Gigi's is one of a chain of delicious cupcake restaurants.  We headed in and couldn't believe the beautiful cupcakes that met our eyes.  They looked delicious and decadent.  We had trouble selecting our two cupcakes that we were going to try, but we settled on the Strawberry Shortcake and Chocolate Chip Cheesecake.  We paid our $3 per cupcake and sat outside at a table to enjoy our goodies.  They were enjoyed by toddlers and mommies alike.

What we liked: The cupcakes were moist and delicious and some of the best we've had.  Plus, they have a huge flavor selection and rotate it on a daily basis.  Some of the flavors you can try range from Kentucky Bourbon Pie and Chocolate Salted Caramel to Raspberry Buckle and Lemon Icebox.  I can't wait to go back on a different day to try more flavors.

What we would change: They did not have any indoor seating, so we sat outside at little tables provided there.  They worked fine, but it was a bit warm in the sun, and the tables were a bit too close to the road to completely relax with wiggly toddlers.
