Netsports

Thanks so much for this post from new blogger, Kara!  We just tried out this program based on her recommendation, and my son LOVES it!

 

What it is: Netsports is an indoor multi-sports facility located in Morrisville. It has 2 indoor soccer fields, 3 basketball courts, 4 volleyball courts, 8 badminton courts, a concession stand and rooms available for birthday parties.  They offer  a "Lil' Kickers" soccer program for kids ages 18 months to 8 yrs. old. My son has attended weekly soccer classes through Lil' Kickers for over a year and it has been a very positive experience for him. 

What we liked: They offer a variety of class levels based on age and skill. Classes aim to develop movement and social skills through games and activities that promote lots of positive reinforcement. The coaches have a "circle time" before starting each class allowing them to get to know the kids better and help them feel part of a team. They also end each class with stamps and a team cheer. I've been impressed with how patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging the coaches have been. With the yearly registration fee of $25, each child gets their own Lil' Kickers t-shirt.  My son wears it proudly!

What we would change: In the Hoppers class that my son has been in for a year now, they do not play any actual soccer games.  I think it would be good to have them play a few games.  However, I think they are just trying to focus on building skills first and playing games comes in a little later.
