Here's a great post from Zion about classes offered at Welcome Baby. For more information about what else this great Durham resource offers, check out this previous post from Amy!
This week I attended my first class through Welcome Baby. If you've never heard of Welcome Baby, I would encourage you to visit their website at www.welcomebaby.org or sign up for the monthly Newsletter to find out about all the great programs they offer.
What it is: Incredible Years -14 week class on parenting 3-5 year olds hosted by Welcome Baby at Trinity United Methodist Church in downtown Durham.
What I like: Since Welcome Baby is grant funded all of their programs are FREE to anyone who is interested. They offer classes in English and Spanish and are trained in Incredible Years curriculum which is based on 25 years of research . This class has dinner provided weekly for the adults and children. Let me not forget to mention they provide childcare while parents are in class and offer transportation to and from class. If you wanted to be a part, there is virtually NO REASON you could not attend.
What I would change: classes are offered on a first come first serve basis...so you might not get a spot if you wait too long to apply.
