Pullen Park Aquatic Center

What it is: We love Pullen Park!  We love the new playground, the train, the carousel, the cafe, and everything else it has to offer.  Now, we have one more thing to love-the indoor pool!  That's right, just overlooking the playground in a large white building is the Pullen Park Aquatic Center.

We headed over last Saturday for a little morning play and picnic lunch at Pullen Park.  We had a great time as usual.  This time, when 12:30 rolled around, we didn't head home, we headed over to the pool as it opened for public swim time.  It was pushing nap time, but we had to check it out and had a great time.  Pullen Park Aquatic Center has all of the components of a great aquatic center: locker rooms, bleachers to watch, an area with a diving board, an area for lap swimming, and a smaller zero entry pool perfect little ones.

We had a great time paddling in the little pool that ranged in depth from zero to about 4ft.  They also had life jackets that we could borrow for my little 21 month old dare devil.  When we arrived it was nice and empty.  By the time we left about an hour later it was a bit crowded because we ran into a birthday party, but we still had a great time.  The kept the pool nice and warm, but the air was still a bit cold when we left.  However, it was a VERY cold and windy day outside.  On any other day I think it would have been warmer than most pools and plenty warm for us.

What we liked: We loved the proximity to all of the fun at Pullen Park.  We also loved the little zero entry pool that is perfect for our little toddlers.

What we would change: As we said it was a little crowded and a bit chilly when we left, but I really think that was just the particular day that we were there.
