What it is: Well, we've already written a post about TCBY, but last year they closed down, renovated for a few months, and reopened in April of this year. So, we had to check them out and report on the renovations. TCBY is the original frozen yogurt place in town, before it was trendy. Now, they've got an updated, fresher-looking interior as well as a toppings bar. However, in a different style from the trendy self-serve spots, they still dish you up a specific flavor and specific size from behind the counter, and they have hand-scooped frozen yogurt as well as soft serve.
What we liked: I really enjoyed the taste and the texture of hand scooped frozen yogurt. It was much more like ice cream, and it tasted delicious. They also have Greek frozen yogurt which I"m anxious to try. Plus, now they have the toppings you can add to put your own individual spin on your frozen yogurt. Or you could order a shiver where you pick the toppings and they mix them in to your flavor of frozen yogurt.
What we would change: While they did have a toppings bar, adults do have to pay about 50 cents to add the toppings. However, kids get the toppings free on their kiddie sized scoop which is nice.
