My Durham Summer Bucket List

So, summer's here, and the kids are out of school.  I am definitely looking for ways to keep the kids occupied and happy, and there are certain places to go and things to do that we definitely can't forget this summer.  To make sure we get to as many as we can, I decided to write it down.  So, read our Durham summer bucket list and please, feel free to tell us your favorite summertime activity so we can add it to the list!

*Run through into the Mist at the Museum of Life and Science
*Go to a library storytime
*Sample some good eats at a Food Truck Rodeo
*Go for a bounce at Defy Gravity
*Relax at the Stay & Play Snack Cafe
*Wade in the shallows in Fews Ford at the Eno River
*Keep cool at Forest Hills sprayground
*Play on the beach at Jordan Lake
*Climb, slide, and play in the balls at Wheels
*Learn and explore at The Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh
*Eat a mexican chocolate Locopop
*See how many of the flavors we can try at Pelican's SnoBalls
*Grab a piece of cake and half price bottle of wine at Nantucket Grill
*Get some fresh groceries at one of the local Farmer's Markets
*Bring the kiddos to eat free on Tuesdays at Moe's
*Bring the bikes and ride laps at Oval Drive, Rockwood, or Cornwallis Rd. Parks
*Go for a run or bike on the American Tobacco Trail
*Sit on the lawn and listen to some music at the American Tobacco Campus
*Do a craft at Bull City Craft
*Watch a free movie at Northgate Mall
*Watch airplanes at the RDU observation park
*Cool off with a sweet treat at Local Yogurt
*Go fishing at Yates Mill Park
*Have a day of fun at Go Play Outside Now
*Go kayaking or canoeing at Lake Crabtree
*Listen to some bluegrass at Fridays on the Front Porch
*Take the train or drive to Discovery Place in Charlotte
*Get creative at the Scrap Exchange
*Get creative at Paint Your Pot or Glazed Expectations
*Try a new flavor at The Parlour
*Get breakfast for lunch at Dennys
*Slide down the giant slides at Duke Park
*Sit out on the patio at Geer St. Garden
*Have a day of adventure at the Asheboro Zoo
*Go blueberry picking at Herndon Hills Farm
*Sweeten up with a frosting shot at The Cupcake Bar
*Watch the trains at the downtown Amtrak station
*Wander through the flowers at Duke Gardens
*Play in the shade at Pineywood Park
*Celebrate the Fourth at Festival for the Eno
*Take ourselves out to the ball game and watch the Durham Bulls

How about Duke Homestead? http://dukehomestead.org/ I haven't been yet, but there is a festival Sat. June 8th from 10-4, and other activities planned for the summer.
